“Monday Night Football” always brings one of the best matchups of the week, and Week 1 of this season is no exception, as the Broncos and Chiefs battle each other. Dabble is giving new users a chance to add to the action with promo code FOXNEWS when they play $5 and get $50 in bonuses.
There are key questions for both teams this season, and both are looking to see signs of the answers starting tonight. For Denver, the big question is: Can Bo Nix take the next step, and will Denver be able to replicate their 14-3 record from last year? They have all the pieces needed. They have a young quarterback on a rookie contract, and they’ve added strong pieces to their offense. On defense, they have one of the most elite and tough units in the NFL. There is no reason to believe they can’t have a great year unless Nix struggles.

For the Kansas City Chiefs, the question is about health and ability. Can Patrick Mahomes return fully healthy after an ACL and LCL tear, and does Travis Kelce still have anything left in the tank? We should get a general idea of Mahomes fairly quickly. Kelce might be harder to judge as I’d expect to see flashes of success and other plays where he shows his age. This will be a test against the Broncos tonight.

Players to Watch
Courtland Sutton
If you don’t play sports, the age of 30 is pretty young. You have a lot of life ahead of you, and probably less than 50% done with your career. However, in sports, 30 is usually the sign that a player starts to decline. Courland Sutton will turn 31 next month, but had one of his best seasons last year, grabbing 74 receptions and seven touchdowns. He was clearly Bo Nix’s favorite target, but with Jaylen Waddle added to the roster, you have to ask if he will remain the top option.
Travis Kelce
If Sutton is considered old, then Kelce is considered geriatric in football years. He will be 37 years old and settled down with some pop singer over the summer. He looked a bit slower last season and had the fewest receptions since 2015 and the second-fewest yards in his career. In comparison, it might’ve been better than 2024, but will Mahomes favorite option and security blanket be effective this season? This is one guy worth watching to see what happens.
