Rutgers will wear special uniforms in honor of the 25th anniversary of September 11th.
The anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack that kicked off decades of intense combat is this Friday. It’s a guarantee football programs around the country will honor the somber day.
The sport is incredibly patriotic at its core, and I expect nothing less than some great displays of patriotism throughout the week and through the weekend.

Rutgers is taking things to a special level.

Rutgers unveils special uniforms for 9/11 anniversary.
Rutgers announced Sunday that it will wear special uniforms and helmets honoring the 37 Rutgers graduates who were killed in the attack.

“As we take the field on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we honor all of those whose lives were lost on that tragic day, including our 37 @RutgersU alumni. We remember. We honor. We will never forget,” the program tweeted.

The uniforms will be worn on Friday against Boston College. The Eagles will also be wearing special uniforms to honor graduate Welles Crowther.

Crowther was killed while helping people escape the carnage and hell that was unfolding in the South Tower.
