Ravens players ride with President Trump in motorcade, get shoutout during speech at Baltimore shipyard event

President Donald Trump spent some time with a handful of Baltimore Ravens players on Tuesday during his event at Tradepoint Atlantic, where he touted the site for Anduril Industries’ $3.7 billion “Arsenal-2” high-tech shipyard to manufacture submarine components.

During his remarks on the billion-dollar project at the 3,300-acre multimodal industrial and global logistics center located at Sparrows Point in Baltimore County, Maryland, Trump singled out four Ravens players in the audience on their day off.

Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey, kicker Tyler Loop, long snapper Nick Moore and punter Ryan Eckley put on suits to attend the event and met with Trump.

And the president, who is probably the most sports-minded man to ever serve in the Oval Office, pointed them all out and gave the Ravens a shoutout.

“What a team you have this year,” Trump said. “What a great team.”

The Ravens have a 3-1 record and lead the AFC North division.

Trump met all the players prior to his remarks and then singled them out in front of the assembled audience and media.

“Could you stand up?” Trump asked the players. “You guys are where are you? Big stars. Where are you guys? There they are. Good looking guys.”

For some reason, Trump paid particular attention to Moore who is the oldest of the group but perhaps the least recognized player on the team unless he does something wrong when he long snaps on punts and kicks.

“I said, tell me, are you a coach? They said, ‘No, he’s a snapper,'” Trump said. “You know, nowadays, those long snappers are very valuable. It’s an amazing job you do with that. And he’s got an unblemished record.

“How far is that, like, 10 yards deep or more? Fifteen yards and you throw strikes, you throw strikes. I don’t know how to hell you do it. So, he’s got a little gray hair right now, this, but you know, they don’t care. They want them him for one play.”

As part of the event at least a couple of the players got a bit of a surprise in that they joined Trump in the tour of the facility in the presidential motorcade.

Humphrey sat directly behind Trump and shot a video of the president and Moore talking about a past Super Bowl.

He posted the video on X and within hours the post had one million views.

And, of course, some folks loved it. And some folks didn’t.

A lot of the discussion in the comments revolved around – surprise! – racism.

Here are some of the comments: nope, on second thought, not worth the energy of typing them. One can be certain, however, that this meeting will be a topic of conversation in the Ravens locker room when players return to work on Wednesday.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, the team’s biggest star, was not present at Tuesday’s event. He is nursing an ankle injury and his status for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons is uncertain.

But Jackson was on the president’s mind.

“Say hello to your quarterback,” Trump told the other players. “He’s a little bit injured. And tell him I know his mother. I met his mother a few times in Palm Beach. And she’s a fantastic, beautiful woman. Give him my regards. He is some player.”
