Pierce Brosnan is throwing in his two cents into the conversation regarding who should be chosen to play the next James Bond, nearly 25 years after he last played the iconic character.

During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the 73-year-old actor said he is following along with the public as “an audience member,” adding he is just as “eager” as everyone else “to see who is going to play this epic role of cinematic history.” He did however give one actor a special shout out.

“All the men who are on the list now are actors I admire,” he said. “Callum, Callum Turner is someone I’ve worked with, and he’s so strong. They all have a voice and a physique, and a presence on film. They all have longevity as actors, all of these young men.”

While he doesn’t know who will take on the iconic role next, Brosnan wishes whoever is chosen “the very best of life and strength and courage.”

FORMER BOND GIRL SAYS NEXT 007 SHOULD BE ‘ANOTHER GORGEOUS MAN’ AS JAMES BOND DECISION

Brosnan first appeared as agent 007 in the 1995 movie, “GoldenEye,” having taken over the reigns from Timothy Dalton. He appeared in his final Bond movie in 2002 with the release of “Die Another Day,” and was replaced by Daniel Craig in the 2006 movie, “Casino Royale.”

Craig starred as James Bond in six films, before hanging up his badge following the release of “No Time to Die” in 2021.

“You know, it’s hard to tell who it would be, but I eagerly await to hear the news and the celebration of the next James Bond,” Brosnan said.

In addition to a new actor playing Bond, the film is also getting a new director in Denis Villeneuve, who will be taking over the franchise, which excites Brosnan.

“I think we are going to be blown away. I really do. [Villeneuve] is such an iconoclastic director. His work is visionary, and his stealth and imagination of camera work and storytelling is so visceral and sensuous,” he said. “It’s going to be great. It’s going to be truly magnificent.”

When speaking with GQ about the mental and physical load of playing the character in September 2022, he nonchalantly explained, “You get chipped, you get nicked, you pull muscles, you get stitched up.”

He also spoke to the outlet about his own approach to playing James Bond, saying he “was trying to walk a line between Roger [Moore] and Sean Connery,” who played the role before him, and “not being shy about taking from their work.”

“I allowed myself the grace to try and get the sense of humour that both men brought to the part,” he said.

Brosnan recently told Fox News Digital that he warned his sons that Hollywood is “a very tough business” that requires discipline, adding that he believes his sons are capable of handling it.

His youngest son Paris, 25, recently made his feature film debut in the movie, “Seniors,” alongside John Rhys-Davies. His son Dylan, 29, is now also stepping into the entertainment industry, starring in an ad campaign with Brosnan for the 170th anniversary for Burberry.

“I was with my son, Dylan Thomas Brosnan, which was just absolutely wonderful, and we had the most magnificent time,” he said about working with his son. “I’d never seen so many people on a set in all my days for such an event. Everybody was very charming.”
