Kai Trump says politics is 'not my thing,' hopes to inspire next generation through her vlogs

Kai Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump who is set to play collegiate golf for the Miami Hurricanes, spoke at the ESPYs on Wednesday about showing her life through her video blog.

Trump has given her followers and supporters of the president and inside look at what it’s like to be a part of the first family while she navigates her own life.

“Honestly, I kind of stay out of politics completely. It’s just not my thing,” she told Sportico. “I just like showing my life and showing how you can still be an athlete and you can still do a ton of other things and enjoy a ton of other things.

“So, I just kind like showing people that everything’s possible and I love just showing the new generation my progress through college, eventually, but obviously how I got to where I am today.”

When asked what she thought about politics intersecting with sports, Trump said again she tries to stay out of the political realm.

“Honestly, I just stay out of politics. It’s not my thing,” she said. “But I think the UFC event was great and it was really cool being there and especially having veterans in the stadium as well, that’s where you can kinda combine the (America) 250 point of view on it. But I thought it was great.”

Trump is set to make her collegiate debut soon. She is one of two freshmen on the team, which also includes Bella Dovhey.
