In-N-Out Burger CEO Lynsi Snyder has hinted at future expansions for the California-based fast-food chain, mentioning Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma as three states that might welcome In-N-Out restaurants in the years to come.

Snyder, whose grandparents Harry and Esther Snyder co-founded In-N-Out in 1948, sat down for an interview with television host Terry Crews. She spoke about the company’s hesitancy to grow too much or too quickly.

Quality matters more than quantity, she said, when it comes to In-N-Out restaurants.

IN-N-OUT’S POPULAR BURGER STYLE STARTED WITH A CUSTOMER REQUEST DECADES AGO

“I just want to make sure that everything is right and that our In-N-Out family is strong, and we’re retaining all those values,” Snyder said, touting the chain’s cleanliness, quality and friendly service.

“If I ever felt like we were slipping or losing our way, growth would look a lot different,” she added.

In-N-Out takes food quality seriously, with all ingredients delivered fresh to each restaurant.

“In fact, we don’t even own a microwave or freezer,” the company says on its website.

The burgers are made from fresh beef in the chain’s patty-making facilities in California and Texas.

The company has come a long way from its humble beginning as a 100-square-foot burger stand in Baldwin Park, a suburb of Los Angeles.

In-N-Out’s original location in California was the state’s first drive-thru.

Harry Snyder created the two-way speaker system, which was used to converse with customers in their cars, according to the company.

In August 2025, Washington state welcomed its first In-N-Out restaurant.

Last year, the company also expanded into Tennessee, opening the state’s first location on Dec. 10.

This move marked the company’s easternmost presence to date, according to the website.

Now, there are five stores in Tennessee, with the website listing a sixth location as coming soon.

In 2027, New Mexico will get its first In-N-Out restaurant and become the chain’s 11th state, the company announced on Instagram back in 2023.

“I feel like there’s a special peace knowing that In-N-Out isn’t everywhere,” Snyder told Crews in the recent interview.

She noted that, while it might seem like the chain is “growing like crazy,” it’s not.

Snyder did tease “Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma. There are some states there that are possibilities,” she said.

With 299 locations in California, it doesn’t appear the chain has any plans to turn its back on its So-Cal roots.

“This is where we started, it’s where we are now and it’s where we’ll always be,” Snyder said.
