Country boys in Kentucky hear knocks in woods at night before one catches glimpse of Bigfoot with spotlight

It’s around 10 pm and a few friends in Kentucky are riding around on the back roads when they decide to get out and look around at a lookout.

It was August, and they had visited this spot plenty of times before without an incident. This night quickly proved to be unlike their prior visits.

Shortly after getting out of their vehicles, witness Clayton reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization that the group “heard what sounded like a distant knock.”

After roughly 20 seconds of dead silence, one of them suggested responding with a whistle or a howl as “it could be a Bigfoot.” Clayton says he let out a long whistle that received a response of what sounded like sticks being broken.

They jumped into their vehicles and took off further down the road where they could turn around and make their way back out of the area.

“On our way back we stopped again at the lookout to see if we could hear something. We wasn’t going to get out this time. I shined a spotlight into the woods and was just looking,” he wrote.

“I seen around 40 yards away from the truck a black hairy figure that was so dark I couldn’t see it until it moved. It was around 7 to 8 feet tall. Its back was turned to me but it slightly turned to us as if it was checking to see if we was still there.”

He went on to describe it as having an ape-like face with a cone-shaped head and yellowish green eyes. Spooked even more than they were by the knocks and stick breaking, they left in a hurry.

This area is known, according to Clayton, for “coon hunters who have had hounds disappear during the night and finding the tracking collars hanging in trees where there are no people anywhere around.”

Being naturally skeptical of most things Bigfoot-related, while I do enjoy the topic, I leave the credibility of such reports up to experts. Experts like BFRO Investigator Charlie Raymond.

“I found the witness credible. His story remained consistent form his online submission, text messages, initial phone call and his video interview. The creature’s physical description and behavior (return tree knocks, trying to hide/avoid the light) are typical. Agreeing to a video interview, he has more to risk (ridicule from his buddies), than the reward (attention),” Raymond wrote.

“I have documented many sightings in the surrounding counties and have had personal interactions with possible Bigfoots in those counties as well.”

There you have it. Another credible account of a Bigfoot encounter. This one from a lookout on the back roads in Kentucky. Is there much evidence? There doesn’t need to be.
