Merriman:
“And I think one of the biggest things is another adjustment for another offensive coordinator coming in. Probably what, the fifth or sixth now, offensive coordinator coming in the last several years with Justin Herbert. Not making that an excuse at all.”
Trust me, Christen Goff would have much rather done a victory Monday post following the Detroit Lions game on Sunday Night Football. Unfortunately for her, the defense let her, her husband Jared and the rest of the team down.
Simply put, they couldn’t stop Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers offense. So she regrouped like the veteran that she is and instead waited until Tuesday to share her “Game day archives.”

Christen had no problem flushing the loss in primetime. She turned the page with an impressive attention to detail and focus. This is what it’s like to watch someone in their prime feel comfortable in the pocket.
Now there’s no excuse for Jared. So he went 32-of-52 for 412 yards and a touchdown against the Panthers. He has to show up and put up numbers this weekend in Arizona as the Lions take on a 1-3 Cardinals team.
He can’t overlook any opponent. He can’t take any drives off.

Jared has to stay focused on doing what he can do with the ball in his hands to help his team win. If you didn’t get that from Christen’s Instagram post, I don’t know what you’re looking at.
There’s a lot going on in each of these pictures she’s included. But the overall message is as clear to me as any message I’ve ever seen.

At 2-2 heading into Week 5, the Detroit Lions are right in the middle of it in the NFC. Now isn’t the time to lose focus.
Sometimes you need a kick in the pants from the quarterback’s model wife to remind you of that. Consider this that kick in the pants for the Lions.
