Illinois Democrats reject Trump’s offer to help curb Chicago crime

Harris Faulkner reports on Chicago’s escalating violent crime, noting President Trump’s repeated offers to deploy the National Guard to Chicago. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson blast Trump’s proposal, arguing he lacks understanding of local safety needs and has defunded institutions that keep people safe in Chicago.
