Zelensky threatens Ukraine will strike Putin’s beloved May 9 Victory Day parade… despite Vlad declaring 3 day ceasefire

VOLODYMYR Zelensky has suggested Ukraine will blitz Russia’s showpiece Victory Day parade through Moscow.

The heroic leader said the Kremlin is “worried” about the event being targeted as Vladimir Putin continues to call for a three-day ceasefire which covers the spectacle.

Ukraine has seemingly sent a warning to Vlad’s men saying they could stage long range missile or drone strikes on May 9 which decimates the Red Square.

Zelensky said this week that his military is tired of playing by Russia’s barbaric rules when it comes to finding a resolution to the Ukraine war.

Despot Putin declared a unilateral ceasefire to halt the conflict for three days which directly covers the parade and the events around Victory Day.

At the start of the month he also made a false promise to the world saying his military would stop their attacks over Easter.

But Ukraine has said these short and meaningless truces, which continue to be ignored by Moscow, must be extended so peace talks can finally ramp up.

Zelensky said any ceasefire should last at least 30 days and should act as a time for Russia, Ukraine and the US to get together and hash out a deal.

The Ukrainian president is yet to get a response from the Kremlin over his month-long rebuttal.

His anger over Russia‘s refusal to come to the negotiating table has only grown today as Ukrainian cities were pounded by more than 100 Russian drones.

At least one was killed and 45 wounded – including two children and a pregnant woman.

And Zelensky is refusing to allow his enemy to celebrate with the prospect of Putin resuming his killing spree after hosting the celebrations.

How scheming Putin has undermined Trump’s 100 day peace plan for finally end bloody war in Ukraine

Ukraine’s leader said: “We are choosing precisely those sore points in Russia that will most prompt Moscow to diplomacy…

“Now they are worried that their parade is in question, and they are right to be worried.

“But they should be worried that this war continues. They must end the war.”

In another statement from Zelensky earlier this week he described the parade as an excuse to “manipulate” the globe into believing Putin wanted peace.

The president said: “We value human lives, not parades. That is why we believe – the world believes – that there is no reason to wait for May 8 [to start a ceasefire].”

Donald Trump made similar comments as he said he is growing “increasingly frustrated” with both Putin and Zelensky.

Putin’s vast military parade on Red Square takes place every year and is seen as one of his favourite celebrations.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the fall of Adolf Hitler and the end of World War Two – meaning the Kremlin wants to celebrate in style.

Among those scheduled to attend are Chinese president Xi Jinping and the leaders of ex-Soviet states including Belarusian strongman Alexander Lukashenko.

Slovakia’s Robert Fico has also confirmed his attendance.

And the threats of a Ukrainian attack on the grand military pageant creates a security nightmare for Putin.

The tyrant is yet to comment on Zelensky’s latest remarks but an alarmed Russian Investigative Committee chief Alexander Bastrykin has hit back.

He ludicrously threatened Zelensky with a criminal case for his comments on the parade.

It comes as Ukrainian secret service colonel Roman Kostenko told Radio NV an attack on the Victory Day parade “isn’t that difficult” to imagine.

He said: “The Russians will pull everything they have to cover Red Square.

“I think everything will be pulled down to Red Square, but, look, we have strong capabilities now in terms of long-range weapons.

“So we will say, yes, if you want to plan such an operation. It’s not that difficult.”

Rehearsals for the May 9 parades have already begun in Moscow with dozens of tanks and armoured trucks being wheeled out across the Russian capital this week.

The actual event will also see more than 10,000 Russians troops taking part as well as soldiers from North Korea.

Zelensky issued his threat as Donald Trump appeared to have lost patience with warmonger Putin amid preparations to punish Russia with crippling economic sanctions.

Trump’s team is in talks with Volodymr Zelensky’s Ukraine to fine-tune measures aimed at dragging Putin to the table after he repeatedly stalled ceasefire pleas.

The Kremlin offered direct peace talks with Ukraine for the first time today – but linked the offer to acceptance of the three-day parade ceasefire.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added yesterday that the war was “too complicated to resolve immediately.”

And tyrant Putin was facing a swingeing Trump crackdown, proposing tariffs on any nations which does business with Russia.

Trump’s seven-point peace plan

THE US has drafted up a seven-point plan which, it hopes, will draw a path to peace between Ukraine and Russia.

A source with knowledge of the plan revealed the content of the main points, reports The Telegraph:

  1. Immediate ceasefire in Ukraine
  2. Direct talks between Ukraine and Russia
  3. Ukraine to be barred from joining Nato
  4. US to formally recognise Russian sovereignty over Crimea
  5. US to give de-facto recognition of four Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia along current lines of control
  6. Ukraine to sign minerals deal to share profits on natural resources with the US
  7. All US sanctions lifted on Russia and both countries co-operate on energy
