If you have Freeview beamed into your home then watch out for something new coming very soon. It’s been confirmed that the new Rewind TV platform is finally arriving on more televisions with a launch taking place on September 18. This service actually landed on Sky boxes all the way back in May and now, as promised, it’s coming to homes who don’t want to pay a monthly subscription.
As the name suggests, Rewind TV will offer Freeview users the chance to watch classic content from the past. There are plenty of nostalgic and popular things to watch including 60’s show The Prisoner, comedy series Drop the Dead Donkey and children’s programming including Worzel Gummidge.
Whose Line Is It Anyway, Tony Hancock and The Charmer starring Nigel Havers is also available plus you can sit back and view factual series as well such as Whicker’s World and World in Action.
“Rewind Television is the destination channel for curated clFreassic TV,” the team behind the platform confirmed.
Once things go live later in the month, you’ll find Rewind TV and channel 95.
This isn’t the only boost on Freeview in September with homes also being treated to a festive update as well. GREAT! Christmas is now live and will be showing endless treats until early January.
It replaces GREAT! Romance (Ch 52) on your telly planner.
Content available at launch includes shows and movies such as Christmas Next Door, The Mistletoe Promise and Miss Christmas.
“The home of Christmas – from September to December! Underneath our tree it’s fit to burst with great Christmas films, ranging from Christmas classics to hidden festive treats,” the team at GREAT! explained.
“And with the biggest collection of Christmas movies on TV, we have enough festive content to keep you in the festive spirit right up to the big day. Together we’ll have a great Christmas.”
