Recently, we’ve seen a variety of designs fetch hefty sums on eBay or even at auction. Just recently, collectors were left amazed as a penny coin sold for a staggering £200,000.

Now it’s not just 1p coins causing a stir as it’s also the 50ps in your collection too. TikTok user @CoinCollectingWizard has highlighted a series of 50p coins that could be worth keeping an eye on.

He started by mentioning the 2017 Royal Shield of Arms coin designed by Matthew Dent, which is worth double its face value at £1 due to its limited circulation of under 2million.

The Kew Gardens 50p coin from 2009 is considered the “holy grail” of 50p pieces.

He said: “Only 210,000 were minted and has an amazing value of £150 if you find this in your change.”

Then he mentioned the Isaac Newton 50p from 2017, designed by Aaron West, which has over 2million minted and is valued at £4.
