Whiten badly stained socks in 1 hour with 3 ‘powerful’ yet natural items cleaner swears by

Stains seem to be particularly drawn to white laundry, often making your socks most vulnerable.

Understanding how to wash white laundry without bleach is key for tackling common stains from sweat, dirt, food, or drinks.

Over time, even white and colourful fabrics can turn yellowed, dingy, or dull, sometimes without apparent reason.

Despite knowing the best way to clean your clothes to avoid dark fabric dyes from bleeding, some discolouration seems nearly unavoidable.

Instead of reaching for harsh chemicals or optical brighteners, turn to the proper ingredients and methods for a bleach-free rescue mission.

Taking to her Instagram account @mama_mila_au, Chantel Mila Ibbotson unveiled a three-ingredient “powerful” concoction to rejuvenate your whites, making them “brighter” than before.

She captioned her video: “How to make your white clothes look new again. Say goodbye to dingy white clothes.

“This simple method keeps your whites looking whiter and brighter. It’s perfect for socks, t-shirts and linens.”

Chantel began by displaying a stained white T-shirt and then placed it into a bowl, pouring warm water over it until it was fully covered.

Next, she introduces one-quarter cup of hydrogen peroxide (for its brightening and disinfecting qualities), one cup of baking soda (for odour elimination and brightening), and one teaspoon of dish soap.

Chantel asserted: “This powerful mix lifts stains and makes your whites look brighter.”

Depending on the stain, the dish soap can be left out as it is intended to tackle oil-based stains.

The cleaning influencer let the top soak prior to running it through a standard cycle in the washing machine.

On Instagram, followers praised this approach but queried about the duration for which clothes should be immersed in the solution.

@blasian86 posed the question: “How long to soak for?” to which Chantel responded: “Usually an hour or two.”
