The defender arrived at Carrington earlier this afternoon to undergo a medical ahead of an £85million deal, including add-ons.
It will come as a sigh of relief for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been after the centre-back since the transfer window opened.
It will now allow Ed Woodward to chase other targets before the transfer deadline on August 8 and there is hope of a few more fresh faces before the new Premier League campaign.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United will turn attentions to the other end of the field after wrapping up the Maguire deal and sign an attacker.
That’s likely to be Paulo Dybala if he agrees to come to Old Trafford as part of a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku.
Mario Mandzukic is also a player Manchester United are looking to sign, there have been contrasting reports as to whether they are in for both players or just one.
It was believed that United were focused on landing a central midfielder alongside Maguire, namely Sean Longstaff, but those plans look to have changed.
That is likely to be because Paul Pogba looks set to stay at the club after weathering the storm, which was serious interest from Real Madrid and Juventus. Both clubs have gone quiet but could still return for the Frenchman.
Dybala’s representatives are in London to sound out a potential move for their client and the Argentine is unhappy with the way he has been treated by Juventus since they stepped up their interest for Lukaku.
Maurizio Sarri wants to bring the Manchester United striker to Turin but cannot afford a straight cash deal.
Dybala has been given further time off to decide on a move and is set to inform the club of his decision when he returns for training on Monday.
According to Sky Sports man Rob Dorsett, Solskjaer has already spoken to Woodward about which deals he wants completed.
“This last week is probably going to be as busy as any time we’ve seen at Old Trafford,” he said on the Transfer Show.
“If you look at the number of players United are still trying to bring in and money they’re still trying to spend, it could be a very, very big week for them.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear to Ed Woodward that he wants Maguire done.
“But he wants others as well namely Bruno Fernandes. We’ve also talked about a number of other players.
“If you want to look at one particular club over the last seven days, look at Manchester United.
“You wonder that the later it goes towards that window, if they haven’t got those players over the line, there might be a little bit of panic that they’ve got to get them in.”
