Wheeler Dealers host unveils simple used car hack to ‘keep cars alive’ and ‘save money’

Wheeler Dealers star Marc Priestley has revealed a simple second-hand petrol and diesel hack which can extend the life of used vehicles.

The TV co-host said that changing oil and keeping fluids regularly topped up were vital and could have major hidden benefits.

He said that keeping models maintained would even save drivers money in the long run as it would reduce the need for garage visits.

The former F1 mechanic turned TV presenter made the admission ahead of the latest World Tour series currently airing every Monday.

Marc explained: “Look after your car. It’s the simple things like oil, keeping your oil topped up but also regular oil changes.

ClickMechanic claims the oil should be changed every 10,000 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first.

The group also claimed the average cost of an oil change in the UK is around £90 but prices can dramatically range depending on a range of factors.

They stress costs can be anywhere from £60 to £190 with location and the type of vehicle likely to affect fees.
