Liverpool travelled to Bavaria this week with plenty of optimism they could get one over one Niko Kovac’s Bayern side.
And they bagged a vital away goal after 26 minutes when Sadio Mane collected Virgil van Dijk’s superb pass before embarrassing Manuel Neuer.
Bayern drew level before the break thanks to a Joel Matip own goal but failed to build on the lifeline the Liverpool defender handed them.
Van Dijk scored a goal of his own with a towering header mid-way through the second half, before Mane secured his brace five minutes before full-time.
Liverpool fans were left to celebrate yet another famous win in Europe as they progressed to the Champions League quarter-finals.
But they weren’t done there, with crafty supporters realising they could use Wikipedia to have another laugh at Bayern Munich’s expense.
The owner section of the Allianz Arena page on the web-based encyclopaedia has since been altered twice.
And the two men whose names have replaced those of the actual owners are two-goal hero Mane and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The two edits were shared on the r/LiverpoolFC subreddit of popular forum site Reddit.
And fans were pleased to see Bayern getting trolled to as the boot was stuck in.
“Haha I really liked that one,” wrote one impressed Reddit user.
“Shhhhh, let’s keep quiet and see how long before the Bayern supporters find out,” said another.
A third fan, incorporating Mane’s name, quipped: “Stadio Mane.”
A Liverpool supporter said: “I clicked this expecting to read ‘Allez Allez Arena’.”
Another joked: “Virgil is now the owner, and the Location is ‘Liverpool’s second home – Germany’.”
Liverpool will discover their Champions League quarter-finals opponents when the draw takes place at 11am on Friday.
