Weight loss diet plans are part of some Briton’s everyday lives.

However, despite this many struggle to lose weight.

Why is it that some manage to stay so slim, while claiming to lead far from a healthy lifestyle?

Secret Lives of Slim People explored the eating habits that keep these people slim.

The programme followed teacher Hayley who eats chocolate three times a day.

She has a cream cheese bagel with cherry tomatoes and pickled onion crisps for lunch, and then more chocolate at half three.

For dinner she makes roast chicken, with chocolate pudding and double cream.

However, the experts revealed that at dinner Hayley doesn’t take a mouthful of her food for minutes, and she takes 28 minutes to eat dinner in total, as she is helping her children to eat.

Some research suggests eating slowly can help people to lose weight.

Many believe the theory that eating slower helps to stop you feeling more hungry.

Experts revealed that despite being far from a gym-bunny, Hayley walks four kilometres a day, and is generally very active.

Hayley is eating around 2,200 calories a day, when we worked out what she is eating she is eating around 2,200 calories a day.

So although it seems that Hayley is inexplicably thin, in reality she is eating the same amount of calories and she burns.

This is considered by many to be the most important thing to do when it comes to dieting.

Of course, it is important to eat healthy foods like vegetables and fruit to get essential vitamins and minerals.

One food you need to eat more of on a weight loss diet has been revealed.

Increasing your intake of fibre will reduce hunger pangs and encourage you to make healthier choices.

Recent research from the National Association of British and Irish Flour Millers found Britons are unaware of how much fibre experts recommend daily.

One in ten 18 to 44 year olds confessed they don’t even know what fibre is or what it does.

Fibre is extremely filling and the body digests it more slowly than simple starches and sugars.
