McDonald’s is renowned for its offering of burgers and fries with the best-selling item being the signature Big Mac.
But the fast-food chain has a reputation for its deliciously sweet desserts too, most famously the classic McFlurry and steaming hot Apple Pie.
The bulk menu of sweet treats includes muffins, cookies, and doughnuts, but it’s always changing with at least three exclusive additions welcomed every six weeks.
To mark the launch of its latest menu, McDonald’s has reinstated the Biscoff McFlurry, Galaxy McFlurry and Galaxy Caramel Pie for its fans to enjoy for a limited time only.
Express.co.uk were lucky enough to sample the fresh menu, and one item was the most talked about – but not for the right reasons.
The return of the Biscoff McFlurry has been long-awaited by fans of the biscuit brand, and it has gone down a treat with taste testers and the public alike.
For £1.99, the ice cream snack includes a Biscoff crumb swirled onto the soft serve giving it an extra crunchy flavour. The Express reviewers agreed that the contrasting textures were hard to resist and warranted the flavour as a must-try for Biscoff fans.
Rated a solid 8/10 overall, the only complaint was that there wasn’t more topping, but they’ll never be enough for true Biscoff lovers.
Onto the McDonald’s Galaxy Caramel Pie; this one was more controversial for a few reasons.
The super crispy pastry shell tastes a little on the savoury side despite being labelled as chocolate. Inside is a thick and gooey Galaxy Caramel sauce that oozes through the length of the rectangular snack.
What got taste testers was the slightly lumpy core which resembled mashed banana once left to cool. While the flavour was rated a 5/10 by taste testers, it’s one to enjoy piping hot to get the best flavour.
That said, the pie is the ultimate McDonald’s dessert for fans of Galaxy Caramel treats and the signature Apple Pie, and many McDonald’s fans agree.
One person on X, formerly Twitter described the pie as “orgasmic”, while another branded the hybrid recipe as a “dynamic” collaboration.
A third person wrote: “I would buy McDonald’s stock of the galaxy caramel pies just so I can eat them forever. the BEST thing ever.”
The final dessert was another McFlurry, this time flavoured with Galaxy chocolate.
This ice cream treat gained extra marks for its silky, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate buttons and even more for the subtle caramel sauce swirled through the soft serve base.
Rated a 9/10 by Express taste testers, it comes as no surprise that the limited-edition recipe has earned the status of a returning favourite.
