Walmart is forced to apologize after store’s ‘ridiculous checkout decision leaves customers waiting in 10 minute lines’

WALMART has been forced to apologize after a furious shopper blasted its “unacceptable” checkout decision.

The irate customer, called Jack, used social media to unleash his wrath on the major retailer, and even reported that the solution didn’t work.

This complaint saw the Walmart user waiting in a 10 minute line because of the lack of open self-checkouts.

The rant on X from Sunday said: “@Walmart 16 self service registers at Waxhaw NC Walmart neighborhood store, only eight open, had to wait ten minutes. Unacceptable!!”

Self-checkouts are usually used in stores to speed up the shopping process, allowing customers to pay for their items quickly.

With this, stores like Walmart can keep a steady flow of shoppers in and out.

It’s also a good way to save on cost by cutting down the amount of employees needed on shift.

Walmart responded in its typical manor, but the shopper snapped back.

Walmart replied: “Jack, we’d like to know more about your checkout experience.

“Please DM me with more details.”

The message left a link to directly message the company.

But, according to Jack, when he went to use it he couldn’t.

Walmart caught ‘breaking the law’ as it forces shoppers to pay high price for essential item & they beg ‘make it right’

This caused him to bite back: “The DM is not working, anyway, they took away all but two registers to add 16 self service registers.

“I was fine with that, except, they are never all open.

“Store is always busy on Sundays, I had to wait 10 minutes to checkout, when there were 8 unopened self registers.”

If the link isn’t working, then Jack has no way to make sure his complaint is properly heard.

Why doesn’t Walmart offer Apple Pay?

CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don’t offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.

Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that “We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time.”

The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.

“That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for,” he said.

When The US Sun tried to access the link, it didn’t work either.

By clicking the link, you are directed to X’s DM section.

However, a message confirms that “You can no longer send messages to this person.”

It is not clear if Walmart reached out to Jack another way, and if the interaction went any further.

It is not strange for stores to not always have every self-checkout running at once, and it is unknown why some of them were closed.

This could have been due to a technical fault or a specific store reason.

The fact that noticed this on a Sunday could mean that Walmart does this on the weekends.
