Walmart employee claims he was told to REFUSE entry to shoppers 30 minutes before closure

A WALMART employee has spilled the tea about an unusual practice at the store.

The employee provided insight as to why some stores may appear to be open when they’re really closed.

In a video posted to TikTok, a user claiming to work for Walmart divulged a secret routine at his store.

In the video, shot in a parked car outside of Walmart, the user says he was asked to sit by the door and refuse entry to customers until closing.

The user chose not to share the location of the store or his full name.

“So, I’ve done this three different times,” the user said in the video.

“They told me, ‘Hey, L, go to the front door, take your stool so you can sit, and tell people we are not letting anyone else in.'”

The store wasn’t set to close for another 30 minutes.

“I’m thinking, well, it’s 5:30,” the employee said.

“At least they’re giving me that heads-up to tell people ‘Hey, we’re closing for the night, we can’t let anyone else in.'”

The video was posted on Christmas Eve, when shopping rushes are the most hectic.

“I was talking to my coworker, and she said every year we have people wait until the last minute,” he said.

Walmart and Aldi could be forced to change policy after self-checkout bill put forward – but Costco would be exempt

The employee also claimed that while walking back to his car after clocking out, someone was trying to enter the store.

He politely informed the customer that the store was already closed.

COMMENTER REACTIONS

Other TikTok users were sympathetic to the employees working on Christmas Eve, and shared their support for the store’s secret policy in the comments.

“Poor planning on your part does not necessitate an emergency on mine,” wrote one user.

“They can get rect. Have a good holiday!”

“I’ve taught my family this, and about my frustration with people who do this to other people,” said another.

“If u plan better, it will also be a blessing to your fellow man n be considered Christmas spirit.”

“Thank you for dealing with all of our retail BS this season,” another wrote.

“Merry Christmas brother man. Enjoy the new year.”

OPEN UP

In a similar incident, CVS promised to investigate after a customer was denied assistance just as the store closed.

The customer, who was picking up a prescription for her daughter, was told to come back as the store had closed one minute prior.

“Pull up to the window at 5:01. ‘Sorry, we’re closed.’ Are you freaking kidding me?” the customer wrote on X.

“I was the only car left. I am fuming. AND it doesn’t open til 11am. Close the line.”
