Virgin Money offering one-off £250 to customers before July

Virgin Money is offering customers a one-off £250 cash payment for making their home more energy efficient with green upgrades.

The banking firm says various improvements qualify for the cashback reward – including insulation, heat pumps, draught proofing, double and triple glazed windows, temperature controls and solar panels, among others.

There is a minimum spend of £2,500 of additional mortgage borrowing on qualifying green home improvements, and you need to register before July to be eligible for the £250 cashback deal.

Virgin Money explains: “Planning new windows, doors or other energy saving home improvements? Borrow more on your Virgin Money mortgage and you could earn £250 cashback for making your home more energy efficient.

“Whether it’s new windows that lock in more heat, or solar panels that provide clean energy for your home. You could cut down energy costs and help reduce your household emissions. We think that deserves a little reward!”

To be eligible for the cashback, you need to have a residential or buy-to-let mortgage with Virgin Money and apply for additional borrowing to upgrade your home.

You must plan to spend at least £2,500 on any of the following qualifying green energy saving upgrades:

You must register to ‘go green’ via Virgin Money’s website by the deadline of June 30, 2025, and tell the firm what improvements you’re planning to make. You’ll then get an email from the firm to confirm if you qualify.

Once the work has been completed, you can then claim your £250 cashback reward online and must submit email proof of your home improvements, such as a receipt or invoice. Virgin Money will then email to confirm everything and will pay £250 into the account you pay your mortgage.

You must claim £250 by the deadline of December 31, 2025. If you need more time to complete the work then you can apply for more time online.
