Wild horses can’t drag this dog away.

A Facebook video shows the harrowing moment a dog harasses a herd of wild horses on a North Carolina beach in the Outer Banks.

The encounter quickly turned dangerous when one of the horses tried to bite the white canine.

After evading the majestic animal’s jaws, the pup runs around the herd of five animals before wandering off unscathed.

According to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund’s Facebook page, this was not an isolated event.

“There have been three instances in the last week (that we know about) where off-leash dogs have been seen chasing and harrassing the horses,” the post reads. “This is so incredibly dangerous, for both the dog and the horses.

“This dog’s life was certainly in danger and he is very lucky that the stallion did not severely injure or kill him,” it continues. “Please do not put your pets, the horses, or yourself in danger like this. It is illegal, irresponsible, and negligent.”

Meg Puckett, herd manager for the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, told the Charlotte Observer that the aggressive dogs behind the string of attacks belong to tourists.

Additionally, a Currituck County law states that dogs must be leashed at all times.

Corolla’s wild horses have a storied history, dating back roughly 400 years when explorers introduced them to the area, according to visitcurrituck.com.
