A Utah woman was busted for allegedly trying to kill her live-in boyfriend with Drano pipe cleaner — and told investigators she hoped “he would go into eternal sleep,” authorities said.
Elle Weissman, 43, told South Salt Lake City cops that she deliberately gave her 50-year-old beau a spoonful of the drain-cleaning chemical to drink Monday night — knowing full well it would kill him, local station KSL reported, citing a jail booking report.
He was “partially asleep” when Weissman administered the poison, according to the report.
Once the man swallowed the Drano, he started suffering excruciating pain, police officer Gary Keller told the outlet. Weissman eventually called a cab to bring her boyfriend to an urgent care facility — and that’s when police were contacted.
The victim survived his lover’s deranged plot — and told police he assumed the woman was giving him medicine, the booking report said.
Weissman was charged with one count of attempted murder and and one count of surreptitious administering of a certain substance, according to reports.
She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Tuesday.
Her boyfriend remained hospitalized Thursday, the station reported.
