Used car expert shares £6,000 luxury saloon that looks like a Bentley

An online motoring personality has taken to YouTube to share how drivers can get behind the wheel of a used luxury car that looks like a Bentley for as little as £6,000.

Adam Morris is one of the presenters on the Australian YouTube channel ReDriven and regularly stars in videos in which he shares tips to help viewers find the best pre-owned model for them.

In a recent video, Adam takes a look around a Chrysler 300C, stating that they may not have the best reputation for reliability, but many owners swear by them.

He explained: “I’m going to be completely honest here. I went into the research and production of this video, I think in a very similar way to maybe you, assuming that this thing would be a mess of terrible build quality issues and reliability nightmares.

“As the internet often claims, cars made in the US often struggle when it comes to reliability and quality control. But the 300 has one of the most loyal and passionate fan bases out there.”

Made from 2010 to 2023, the second-generation Chrysler 300C was a mid-size luxury car that rivals models such as the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Jaguar XF.

The majority of models sold in the UK were fitted with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, allowing the five-seater saloon to reach 62mph in 7.4 seconds whilst averaging nearly 40mpg.

Whilst the older original model is now available for around £2,000, drivers looking to get behind the wheel of a Chrysler 300C will need a budget of £6,000.

Inside, Adam highlighted that the Chrysler 300C has a dull design, but one that can easily be customised by owners.

He added: “It’s such a comfortable interior, the space is really good, the ergonomics are spot on, and there’s loads of adjustability. These seats are fantastic, you could spend hours and thousands of kilometers in these and still feel totally comfortable.

“But it is just a sea of hard black plastics in here. In fact, Colin, who owns this car, has upgraded the atmosphere in here with some quilted leather floor mats, and that has made a massive difference. Otherwise, it’s like being in a dark dream.”

Nevertheless, drivers tempted to put a used Chrysler 300C on their driveway were urged to avoid models with a customised exhaust, with Adam stating it could ruin the sound and overall driving experience.

He continued: “Obviously this glorious engine sounds amazing, but for some people it’s still not enough. If it has an aftermarket exhaust system fitted, please make it a good one.

“Too many dodgy backyard opperators just cut the centre muffler out, and yeah it’s going to be louder, but not in a good way. It’s also going to boom throughout the interior, it’s going to sound like you’re sitting inside a subwoofer enclosure, and that is not fun.”
