Unai Emery reveals the best thing about being Arsenal boss

Unai Emery claims the best thing about being Arsenal head coach is playing in front of the home crowd at the Emirates.

Emery replaced Arsene Wenger as the Gunners boss in the summer of 2018 and has had a mixed tenure so far.

The Spaniard has been criticised for his side’s away form, after they kept just one clean sheet on the road in the Premier League during his first campaign in charge.

And maybe that is why he much prefers playing at home in north London than going away.

“Really, for me every moment is for enjoying,” Emery told the official Arsenal website.

“But if I can choose the best moment, not only one, but the best moments here as a coach is when we are playing at the Emirates with our supporters.

“The energy, connection, really to be together, feeling their support and also In think every player, and me personally also, have a good responsibility and also have a motivation to connect with them, showing them and doing all we can on the pitch to connect with them.

“I think like that we can achieve the best results in our stadium.”

Emery is passionate on the sidelines and he says that is one of the key values he wants his players to express to the supporters when on the pitch.

“I think that football is passion, football is connecting our heart and their heart,” Emery added.

“I think we need also to play giving them energy, after quality, energy, quality, passion, quality and also being clever in each decisions.

“But really, playing with a passion and for example, I am from football in my life because I feel, when I was playing and when I was coaching and today, I feel the passion for that.”
