BRITS will finally be able to unlock the biggest feature on Meta’s smart glasses – almost a year after the US.
The Mark Zuckerberg-owned company has sold more than two million Ray-Ban Meta glasses since launching in October 2023.

Wearers can take photos and shoot videos with tiny cameras built into the glasses, as well as listen to music and take calls with integrated speakers.
But one of the biggest features has been missing since landing last year.
And that’s the ability to use Meta AI fully.
The voice assistant can already be summoned to do basic tasks like read your WhatsApp messages out to you.
But special Look and Ask tools go a step further, providing you with information about what you see before your eyes.
It’s a particularly handy tool to have on holiday for identifying monuments and landmarks, as well as translating text.
The game-changing feature has been limited to the US and Canada for the past 12 months.
But UK users will finally be able to use it from today.
“Soon, you’ll be able to use Meta AI to get information, control your AI glasses and ask about what you see – such as identifying a plant or translating a restaurant menu,” a email to customers says.
Eventually, the glasses will be able to translate speech in real time between Spanish, French, Italian and English as well.
Users have welcomed the news, saying “it’s about time”.
“Hoping it’s today, I go on holiday tomorrow!,” one person wrote on Reddit.
“I bought the glasses last week on a gamble that this feature would eventually be released. Looks like I won’t have to wait too long,” another commented.
This is a travel game-changer

I’ve been using the Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses for sometime now and the picture quality always surprises friends for such a small device.
On a few trips to the US I’ve been able to use Meta AI and it has transformed how I find out information.
It successfully identified buildings around Honolulu, Hawaii, and even read out panels to me.
So being able to use it in Blighty is even more exciting, especially with summer around the corner and a new garden awaiting some much-needed love.
