UK households urged to buy air fryer and save £161 before October rise

They’re one of the hottest kitchen trends of the past few years but if you haven’t bought an air fryer yet, now is the perfect time as energy bills are set to go up from October.

Customers with every energy firm from British Gas to EDF and EON or OVO will see bills rise by £149, or 10 percent, from October 1.

And that’s why it’s the ideal time to buy an air fryer, which can slash your electricity bill by as much as 75 percent.

Ninja air fryers are the biggest brand on the market, and for good reason – Ninja’s best selling dual zone air fryer promises to cut energy bills by 75 percent compared to using a traditional oven.

Whether you’re a state pensioner missing your Winter Fuel Payment or just busy with work without much time to use a full oven, an air fryer can save both time and money.

Ninja said: “Save up to 75% on your energy bill† with the UK’s best-selling dual-zone air fryer.

“Testing and calculations based on recommended cook time for sausages, using air fry function versus conventional ovens”.

GreenMatch’s calculations show that an air fryer can save as much as £127 per year versus a gas oven, or £99 for an electric oven, adjusted by us for the October 1 price cap unit rates.

Taken with a £70 discount off air fryers right now, households can save £197 and have healthier meals without oil to boot.

For a limited time, Ninja’s air fryer range is £70 off. The best value model, the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer AF300UK is £149.99 right now, down from £219.99.

This model can cook two foods two different ways at once, and have them both ready at the same time. It can air fry, max crisp, roast, bake, dehydrate or reheat. It can feed up to 8 people and fit a 1.6kg chicken in each drawer and is 75 percent faster than using an oven, which is where the energy bill savings come from.

The next model up, the Ninja Foodi MAX AF400UK is also £70 off, down from £249.99 to £179.99. It’s bigger, promising to cook a full 2kg roast chicken and potatoes at once and is 25 percent larger than the standard model, but still saves 65 percent on your energy bills.

Next up is the Foodi MAX Dual Zone, again down £70 from £269.99 to £199.99 and is 75 percent faster than an oven, with a larger capacity again than the previous model.

The Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer 10.4L AF500UK is the top traditional model, the largest air fryer in the range and is £66 off, down from £269.99 to £206.

This one is 65 percent cheaper to run than a traditional oven and has the largest capacity, cooking a whole leg of lamb with roast vegetables on the side and has an extra cooking function (proving for bread).

The biggest and most versatile is the newer DoubleStack SL500UK, which can cook an impressive four layers of food, ‘perfect for large families’, and still saves 55 percent compared to a regular oven. This is £50 off, down from £269.99 to £229.99.

As GreenMatch says: “Using an air fryer can lead to significant long-term savings. These savings can increase over time, making air fryers a cost-effective choice for many households.

“They use less electricity than ovens for small meals and reduce the fat content in foods. Additionally, they lower the risk of harmful compound formation.”

Ninja also has an array of other deals throughout the year on handy cooking appliances, including up to £100 off its woodfire BBQS. You can also purchase Ninja appliances via Amazon or find some impressive deals on air fryers with Debenhams.
