Two men wounded by gunfire in Harlem; passing MTA bus struck by stray bullet

Two men were shot — and a passing MTA bus caught a stray bullet — in Harlem Wednesday night.

Police responded to a call at the intersection of W. 116th St. and St. Nicholas Ave. around 11:40 p.m. when they found a 22-year-old man who had been shot in the leg, sources told the Daily News.

The man was taken to Morningside hospital around the same time that a second victim, an 18-year-old man, showed up at Harlem hospital with a gunshot wound.

The 18-year-old later told authorities that he had also been near W. 116th St. and St. Nicholas Ave.

A bullet also struck a passing M116 bus traveling through the intersection.

Police sources said there were 13 passengers on the bus at the time, and no apparent injuries.

The bus was equipped with cameras, according to an internal MTA report reviewed by The News, but it remained unclear Thursday whether the incident was captured on tape.
