Donald Trump’s campaign said he’s “safe following gunshots in his vicinity” in Florida Sunday afternoon.
According to CNN, Trump was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. It wasn’t immediately clear how far away the reported gunfire was or if it had anything to do with the former president.
His campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, offered no additional details in a brief statement released on X.com.
Two months ago, on July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on Trump while he was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pa. Trump’s ear was nicked and a rallygoer was fatally struck before authorities shot Crooks dead.
