Premier League scouting mission

Southampton are the latest Premier League side to show an interest in signing Genk hitman Mbwana Samatta.

The Tanzania international was the leading goalscorer in Belgium last season, scoring 32 goals in all competitions as he helped his side win the Jupiler League.

Samatta, who is available for around £10m, was watched by several Premier League sides against Liverpool last Tuesday in the Champions League.

Newcastle and West Ham were also represented at Anfield, while Leicester have also taken a look at him this season.

Chelsea set Giroud price

Chelsea are ready to part with Olivier Giroud in January if they receive a £5m bid for the wantaway striker.

Giroud is behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi in the Stamford Bridge pecking order and could do with a move to keep his France career alive.

Frank Lampard has opened up about wanting to keep hold of the former Arsenal star, but he might be sold when the transfer window reopens.

Inter Milan, Lyon, Nice, Bordeaux and Vancouver Whitecaps are all interested in signing Giroud, who Chelsea value at £5m.

Arsenal’s sack stance on Emery

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is not in any immediate danger of losing his job despite the Gunners’ defeat to Leicester.

Saturday’s 2-0 loss at the King Power Stadium came just days on from a disappointing 1-1 Europa League draw at Vitoria.

But, according to ESPN, the result is not going to cost the under-fire Arsenal manager, who has the backing of the board.

Emery’s situation may change, however, if Arsenal fail to get back on track and start sliding down the Premier League table.

Man Utd vs Liverpool scrap

Manchester United and Liverpool may be set for a north-west battle over on-loan Leeds winger Ben White.

Football Insider reckon both Premier League giants are keeping tabs on the Brighton ace’s development at Elland Road.

And they might scrap it out for his signature in the new year as they seek to snap up one of the UK’s brightest prospects.

United and Liverpool were both interested in Daniel James over the summer, with the Red Devils winning that transfer skirmish.
