08:10 UPDATE: Arsenal to land Real Madrid ace?
Arsenal are more likely to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos than Tottenham, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth reckons.
“Arsenal now, it appears, are going head-to-head with Tottenham for Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid,” Sheth said.
“It appears that what Ceballos wants might fit in more with what Arsenal can do.
“I think Ceballos wants to do a loan, Real Madrid would ideally like to sell to get some money into the coffers to maybe buy other players.
“But Ceballos feels that he can still have an impact at the Bernabeu.
“So if you couple that with Arsenal’s, limited, we’re told, transfer budget, they can bring someone in like that on loan.
“Ceballos is looking for first-team football. Is he more likely to get it there than at Tottenham?”
07:50 UPDATE: Jurgen Klopp talks Liverpool transfer plans
Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool will not spend big this summer, claiming the Reds have everything they need.
“We brought them in already, only you don’t realise it,” insisted Klopp. “Rhian Brewster; [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t play last year; all the young boys today.
“They are all new players for us, that’s all good. The transfer market is open until August 8.
“The whole of Europe had the idea to close the transfer window early and the only country that did it was then England, so we close it now three weeks before all the others.
“We will see what we do but I don’t think it will be the biggest transfer window of all time.”
07:30 UPDATE: Mateo Kovacic on Chelsea move
Mateo Kovacic is ready to add more goals and assists to his game next season at Chelsea.
“It means a lot because I saw the club wanted me and I wanted to stay here from the first day,” he said after making his move from Real Madrid permanent.
“We had a good connection so I’m happy to stay here, to work hard and play well.
“I had a good relationship with the fans from the start. We had some good games and some bad games but I think in the end we did a good job.”
