Available for £699.99, Sony’s powerful new PS5 Pro console is out now. The PS5 Pro has a 2TB SSD, and is bundled with a DualSense controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom.
The console also comes with a bigger GPU for improved performance, as well as Advanced Ray-Tracing capabilities and AI-driven upscaling.
According to Sony, the GPU will provide rendering that’s up to 45% faster; Advanced Ray Tracing will provide “more dynamic reflection and refraction of light”; while AI Driven Upscaling uses “machine learning to provide super sharp image clarity.
Elsewhere, PS5 Pro Game Boost will give older PlayStation games an upgrade in the visual and performance department.
With all this in mind, we’ve put together a list of five games that would benefit most from an official PS5 Pro Enhanced boost. And remember, you can currently get a PS5 Pro for just £565 by using this discount code at Very.
Gotham Knights
With Suicide Squad proving to be such a colossal letdown, I’ve been tempted to get my superhero fix by revisiting Gotham Knights.
While it’s not a patch on the Arkham trilogy of games, it would be a lot better if the performance was up to speed, something the PS5 Pro could easily fix.
There’s no word on whether Gotham Knights will get an official PS5 Pro update, but we certainly hope it does.
Black Myth Wukong
Arguably one of the surprise hits of the year, Black Myth Wukong is an exceptional action game let down by only one issue on consoles.
Quality mode looks exceptional, but only runs at 30FPS, while Balance mode has neither the consistent frame-rate or gorgeous visuals to make it worthwhile. This is a title that demands to be played at 60 frames-per-second in Performance mode, but doing so will rob you of some of the game’s beauty.
The PS5 Pro should give console users the experience that’s currently only available with a high-end gaming PC.
Red Dead Redemption 2
It’s baffling to think that a game as popular as Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn’t been given an official PS5 upgrade like Grand Theft Auto 5.
Red Dead 2 already has stunning visuals, it’s just missing the option to play at 60 frames-per-second, something that’s reportedly easy enough to achieve on a base PS5, let alone the PlayStation 5 Pro.
Indeed, a PS5 Pro patch would be even better, giving us the 60 FPS option we’ve been craving, as well as graphics that would take Red Dead Redemption 2 into the next stratosphere.
Gran Turismo 7
Gran Turismo 7 is one of the games that is getting a PS5 Pro boost (although sadly not at launch), and we can’t wait to try it.
Even without the PS5 Pro Enhanced update, Gran Turismo 7 will benefit from the console’s increased horsepower, but the official patch should make things even more special, with improvements to ray-tracing complementing the speedy frame-rates.
However, what we really want is to play a PS5 Pro boosted Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR 2. PSVR 2 games like Kayak are using the power of the PS5 Pro to offer improved resolutions and 8K textures, so let’s hope GT7 does something similar in virtual reality.
Bloodborne
The greatest game of all time, Bloodborne is crying out for some sort of remaster or remake. Failing that, a simple PS5 Pro patch will do the trick.
The thought of seeing Yharnam through a 4K lens is enough to make the mouth water, while a 4K performance boost would finally do the fast-paced combat justice.
It’s worth pointing out that the PS5 Pro’s Enhanced Image Quality feature will give the visuals a very minor upgrade, but there’s still the issue of frame-rates.
