TGI Fridays launches Christmas menu with two courses for under £22

The festive season is upon us, and it’s time to indulge in holiday favourites like pigs in blankets and eggnog. If you’re looking for a twist on the traditional Christmas fare, TGI Fridays has just unveiled its new holiday menu.

As an American-style restaurant and cocktail bar, the limited-edition dishes each have a unique US flair. Cheese enthusiasts will be delighted with options such as Merry Cheesy Christmas (cheese ring doughnuts with a sweet and smoky seasoning, served with mozzarella dippers and cranberry and chilli jam), and Cajun Claus Mac and Cheese, which adds a kick with Cajun spices and more cranberry and chilli jam.

For the main course, Santa’s Smashed Burger offers two beef patties with all the trimmings (lettuce, tomato, pickle and more), accompanied by a Cajun cheese sauce, mozzarella dippers and cheese doughnuts. Vegetarians can enjoy the Very Merry Vegan burger, featuring a plant-based patty and vegan cheese.

To round off the meal, TGI Fridays pairs chocolate and orange in a delicious brownie served with orange sorbet.

However, the festive offerings aren’t limited to food. There’s a plethora of Christmas-themed drinks to get you into the holiday spirit, reports the Liverpool Echo.

These include a Christmas martini infused with Black Forest flavours and a ‘Frostbite’ cocktail – a blend of spiced rum, pineapple juice, lime and blue curaçao, topped with a snowy foam, blue sugar rim and marshmallow garnish. For the little ones, there’s Dasher’s Merry Shake – a vanilla and chocolate milkshake designed to resemble a reindeer, inspired by Richard Curtis’ forthcoming animated film, That Christmas.

A two-course set menu comprised of an appetiser and main course is available for £21.95, while desserts are priced at just £5 each. To add a charitable touch to the festive season, £1 from every set menu will be donated to the NSPCC.

If you’re over 18, you can participate in an interactive digital game by scanning the TGI Fridays Christmas set menu, offering the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including free bottles of Coca-Cola or up to £50 off your next bill. While no one has yet posted about the Christmas-themed menu on social media – given it has only recently been launched – you can gauge public opinion of TGI Fridays more generally from review websites like Reviews.io.

Patrons have been lavishing praise on TGI Fridays, with one satisfied diner exclaiming: “TGI’s in Stevenage was amazing… The food (Chicken Strips and Chips) were very enjoyable the service was first class too. Would recommend 100 percent,” Another added their voice to the chorus of approval: “Amazing staff and overall great atmosphere at the TGI Fridays Newport Road Cardiff. Great service.”

A third customer recounted their delightful experience: “Went to the resort World location in Birmingham last Thursday and the entire visit was awesome. Great service from start to finish. The meal was excellent, everything hot and fresh, just as it should be. I cannot rate them high enough.”

However, not all feedback has been glowing, with some customers reporting less-than-stellar experiences. One diner lamented that “the food was also a bit slow in coming out”, while another commented: “Service was slow and staff were clearly under pressure.”

As the festive season approaches, there are numerous seasonal menus to try. McDonald’s is set to unveil its Christmas selection in the UK on November 21, and Subway has already introduced its holiday offerings, including a tempting festive brie toastie.

Yet for those seeking a merry dining experience that the whole family can enjoy, TGI Friday’s Christmas-inspired fare and beverages come highly recommended.
