A TEENAGE boy was likely “killed instantly” after he was crushed to death in a tragic farming accident.

The father of Harry Moss has spoken out after his 14-year-old was fatally injured on a farm in Malvern, Worcestershire on Thursday morning.

Police at the scene of the incident on Blackmore Park Road, Great Malvern. April 17, 2025. A teenage boy has died and a man left seriously injured following a horror accident involving farmyard machinery. Emergency services were called to an address in Blackmore Park Road, Malvern, Worcs., at 8.50am today (Thurs). Paramedics discovered the boy in a critical condition but said nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was also found seriously injured and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.

Lewis Moss, 39, told The Telegraph: “The lad who owned the farm phoned me and he just said, ‘You need to get down the farm. It’s Harry. It’s really bad.’

“When I got down there, they were still trying to work on him but he was gone. The only solace I’ve got is when I went to see him yesterday in the morgue, I asked the lady and she said by the extent of his injuries, it was instant.

“He got an opportunity to work on this farm and was so happy to get that job. It would have been his 15th birthday next month.”

His father also revealed that the 14-year-old was working on the farm whilst trying to save up money to buy his own tractor.

West Mercia Police have launched a probe into the incident alongside the Health and Safety Executive.

Mr Moss described Harry, who was the oldest of five children, as a keen fisherman and rugby player.

He had started working on the farm just before Christmas and took on the roles of lambing, mucking out and retrieving firewood.

According to Mr Moss, his son was not around heavy machinery.

Tributes poured in after the news of the 14-year-old’s tragic passing.

His grief-stricken mum Holly McMurray claimed he was “working too hard” when disaster struck.

In a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook, she wrote: “My boy forever loved. My first born. My world has fallen apart. Fly high my homing pigeon.

“Harry you did me so proud but boy you was 14 working too hard! Farmer forever. I love you so much.”

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their desperate efforts, “nothing could be done to save him.”

Family friend Margaret Murrihy launched an emotional fundraiser to help cover funeral costs, writing: “Harry moss was the most amazing teenager who had his whole life ahead of him it was tragically take at just the young age of 14 him being the eldest sibling of the family.

“Harry was an amazing big brother and son and lived his life like a little homing pigeon – if he left home it was either to do what he loved, farming or fishing.

“No parent should have to go through this unimaginable pain or receive this kind of news. I know nothing can help with the pain.

“Harry was the best and will be given the best send-off.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to an incident at an address off Blackmore Park Road in Malvern, Worcestershire at 8.50am.

“Sadly, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

Another man, aged 18, was also taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

Cops have since seized the digger and are investigating reports that a dump truck may also have been involved.

West Midlands Police said: “Police are currently at the scene of a site near Blackmore Park Road in Malvern after a teenage boy died in an incident involving farm machinery.

“The Health and Safety Executive has been informed. We ask that the family’s privacy is respected.”

A spokesperson for the HSE added: “We have visited the site and are working with West Mercia Police with their investigation.”
