RETAIL giant Target has promised angry shoppers they will launch a probe into a major price match policy blunder.

A customer has claimed his entire online account has been deleted – including gift cards and order history – after he asked Target staff about a Pokemon game.

A user on X wrote: “DON’T call/chat Target cs (customer service) about price match on Paldean Fates using an in-store purchase for $27.99.

“The rep deleted my entire count after they told me it couldn’t be matched and I said OK and hung up.

“There’s no way to restore. Gift cards, history, etc gone.”

He also shared a picture of him attempting to sign in but being told his Target account doesn’t exist.

The popular US store quickly responded to the claims with a message underneath the X post

It asked for the man’s details as they announced: “We’d like to look into this for you.”

Pokemon Paldean Fates is the latest set of trading cards and games released by the major Japanese company.

They were first released last January and a whole range of items from the range can be found in Target stores.

This includes tins, booster bundles and even premium shiny Pokemon cards.

Target has faced issues around their Pokemon range in the past.

At the end of April shoppers started to notice the retailer has appeared to have rolled out a fresh policy impacting shoppers who want to buy a Pokemon playing card game.

Pokemon chiefs have released more cards as part of its Celestial Guardians expansion and the products have sparked demand among Target shoppers.

But, the enthusiasm surrounding the trading cards has left shoppers disappointed because they’ve been restricted with how many packs they’re allowed.

A sign had been stuck to the shelf with the packs on that said: “Limit 2 per person per item.”

Walmart has also promised some customers that it will investigate complaints about its checkout process at select stores.

The retail giant notably has cashier lanes and self-checkout kiosks at most of its over 4,600 stores nationwide.

But some shoppers have been left fuming after hardly any of the checkouts were open when they tried to pay for their goods.
