Stormy Daniels has finally broken her silence on the conviction of former President Donald Trump, demanding: Lock him up.
Speaking exclusively with The Mirror, Daniels expressed her sense of vindication and issued a warning about Trump’s potential return to politics: “He is completely and utterly out of touch with reality.”
Since testifying in the hush money criminal trial against the former president, Daniels has kept a low profile, avoiding public comment.
However, after playing a key role in the downfall of the once most powerful man in the world, 45 year old Daniels revealed that despite justice being served, she continues to receive death threats from Trump supporters.
Stormy expressed her “shock” at the speed with which the jury found the former president – the first US leader ever convicted – guilty of all 34 charges, suggesting it demonstrated their belief in her testimony.
Just weeks prior, she had been seated a mere 10 feet away from him – the first time since their encounter in Los Angeles in 2007 – while providing her testimony.
Central to Trump’s downfall was a $130,000 (£102,000) payment made to Stormy by Trump’s then-lawyer, Michael Cohen.
This was to ensure her silence in the days leading up to the 2016 US election regarding alleged sexual encounters with the businessman at a celebrity golf tournament a decade earlier.
Cohen and Trump, 77, later devised an illegal scheme to falsify business records to conceal the reimbursement of the payment to the lawyer.
During the trial’s closing arguments, prosecutor Joshua Steinglass suggested to the jury that paying for Stormy’s silence could have “very well” been what “got President Trump elected.”
