Starfield Shattered Space release time, date, pre-load, recommended level and discount

A year after ambitious role-playing game Starfield made its debut on Xbox and PC, developer Bethesda is getting ready to release the game’s first major story expansion, titled Shattered Space. Starfield Shattered Space has a September 30 release date and a 4pm BST launch time for fans living in the UK (8am PDT/11am EDT in North America). Owners of the Starfield Premium Edition can access the expansion without paying extra, while Standard Edition owners can purchase the DLC for £29.99 on Xbox Series X|S, or £25.99 on PC via Steam. If you’re thinking of grabbing the Starfield DLC and want to save some cash, then CD Keys is selling the Steam version of Shattered Space for £19.99.

After purchasing the Shattered Space Steam Edition from CD Keys, the retailer will send you a link with the code that can redeemed on the Steam store.

Steam codes can be redeemed in the wallet section of the website/app. After visiting the wallet page, select ‘Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet Code’ from the options on the right.

If you have pre-ordered the Shattered Space DLC, the content should already be available to pre-load ahead of launch. Pre-loading means you’ll be able to start playing the moment it goes live.

The new Starfield expansion transports players to a new planet within the game’s universe. While the use of a single planet should lead to a more focused adventure, fans can still expect an expansive experience featuring huge open spaces and dense locations.

Bethesda explains more: “The key to Shattered Space is that the entire expansion takes place on Va’Ruun’kai (although you can leave and return at almost any time).

“Major sections of the planet are entirely handcrafted. It looks and feels like a classic Bethesda Game Studios experience, similar to prior expansions for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series – a self-contained story that plays with tone and mechanics that the main game didn’t.”

Needless to say, the expansion also adds a ton of new items and weapons to the game, including the Vortex grenade.

Bethesda even likens it to a survival horror experience, with new “stalking abominations” that will make life difficult for the player.

It all takes place on Va’Ruun’kai, which is home to worshippers of a deity known as The Great Serpent.

“Immerse yourself in the dark and complex world of House Va’Ruun, as you navigate a tense political landscape, uncover the history of the Va’Ruun people and help decide the fate of the faction in the wake of a cataclysmic event,” Bethesda adds.
