“You can keep your spending down in Valencia without even trying,” says Telegraph Travel destination expert Annie Bennett.

If you’re on the hunt for the best Valencia tapas bars, you will be pleased to hear that you can sample the wonderful Mediterranean cuisine without leaving a dent in you wallet.

In traditional Spanish style many of the authenic tapas bars do not open until 7pm. If your hunger strikes before this time you may find yourself at a bar or resturant catering for tourists which as a result means higher prices.

Unlike other big European cities, Valencia offers locals and tourists alike a low cost of living making it a great budget-friendly city.

Just because it has an affordable cost of living does not mean that Spain’s third largest city doesn’t offer a range of amazing sities to visit.

Known for its quality of life, affordable lifestyle, and rich culture, Valencia was even voted the best place to live in the world in 2022.

Valencia has miles of golden beaches with views of the Mediterranean and a bustling city centre meaning that the Mediterranean city really has something for everyone.

The city is steeped in history, with beautiful architecture on every street and an array of shops and eateries to explore.

Turia Park is one of Spain’s largest urban parks and a must-see while in the city. It was created on the former riverbed of the Turia River.

Mercado Central is the city’s most vast market, constructed in 1928. Home to spectacular seafood counters and meat stalls selling sausages and giant steaks, there’s something for everyone.
