Sofia Richie is saying hello to parenthood as she and husband Elliot Grainge welcome their first child together.
The 25-year-old model announced on Instagram Friday that their daughter Eloise Samantha Grainge was born this week.
“5•20•24 best day of my life,” Richie, the daughter of Lionel and sister of Nicole, wrote in a caption to a black-and-white snapshot featuring their baby girl’s tiny feet.
In her Instagram Story, Richie also shared a photo of Eloise gripping her dad’s finger as well as multiple portraits from her Vogue magazine shoot earlier this year, when she announced her pregnancy.
Noting her desire to “raise a smart, kind person,” Richie told Vogue at the time that she was looking forward to “being someone’s best friend and helping guide them in life down a certain path.
“I’m so excited to hold someone’s hand through that, but most of all, to have my lifelong best friend like that,” she said, adding she hoped to “find that balance and groove” between “protective but not too overly protective” and “involved, but not too involved.”
She also noted that despite her own public-facing line of work, she didn’t plan to publicize her daughter much online, hoping instead to give her the option for privacy.
Richie and Grainge, son of Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, not only both have fathers in the music industry but have known each other since childhood.
They just celebrated their first wedding anniversary, having tied the knot in a star-studded South of France wedding in April 2023, a year after their Hawaiian engagement. They went public with their relationship in April 2021.
