Simple email trick helps woman score her dream job – without an interview

Securing your dream job doesn’t have to be a struggle with this simple trick.

Job hunting can often feel like an endless task, sifting through countless adverts and hoping to find the perfect company that’s also hiring. But one woman revealed how she landed her ideal role without even having a formal interview, at a time when the company wasn’t advertising any vacancies.

Her secret? A straightforward email that impressed the company’s founder so much, she was invited for a coffee and subsequently offered a job.

Ash, who shares her experiences on TikTok under the username @ashleighspili, shared: “I actually want to tell you guys how I got my job. I think this is such a life hack for avoiding long interview processes.

“I discovered the company I currently work at on Instagram. I fell in love with the whole ethos, the vibe, the founder – I thought she was amazing.

“I looked on the website and they weren’t hiring. I feel like so many people in this situation would just keep an eye out for when jobs come up.

“No, don’t wait. So many companies are considering hiring but they’ve got so much on and they haven’t had time to put a job advert out but they are actually open to it.”

Ash then explained she used the graphic design tool Canva to transform her CV into a presentation that displayed her skills and experience, and made it personal to the company by using the branding from their website.

She then emailed this to the founder alongside a message explaining why she thought she would be a good fit for the company.

“I said, ‘Look, I know you’re not hiring but I’m so passionate about what you guys do, I love the ethos of your company, here’s why I would be amazing to work for you and here’s why I really think you should hire me’,” she shared.

“Then I said that I know you’re not hiring but can we set up a coffee to talk because I’d love to be front of mind for the future.”

Ash, a PR professional, said the founder responded positively to her proactive approach, stating there is always “room at the table” for individuals who display such initiative.

Following a casual coffee meeting at the office, she was offered a position without having to go through a formal interview process or compete against other candidates.

Her story inspired many in the comments section of the video, encouraging them to adopt a more proactive approach when applying for jobs. And Ash advised if a company rejects such an approach, it probably wasn’t the right fit to begin with.

She stated: “If the managers are close-minded, you won’t get anywhere, but that tells you that it wasn’t the right job so haven’t wasted time on long applications for a job with a bad culture!”
