Shower screens will dry ‘streak free and crystal clear every time’ with 2 kitchen staples

Limescale taking over your shower screen can make even the most sparkling bathrooms look grubby.

Aside from limescale, there’s also the problem of soap scum which happens when soap mixes with water and doesn’t just wash away but clings to everything from hair and skin to shower heads and screens.

For those battling limescale at home, figuring out how to clean shower screens can be a real headache.

Limescale, also known as hard water stains, are notoriously stubborn, particularly if left to set in.

On her TikTok account @missporcelianxo, cleaning enthusiast Dani has posted a video demonstrating her method for cleaning shower glass, which she describes as a “Quick shower scrub”.

Shunning harsh chemical cleaners, this cleaning fan opted for a simple concoction using just two common kitchen items – white vinegar and washing-up liquid.

Dani claimed: “This is the best hack I’ve ever used for cleaning the shower screen glass.”

She explained: “In a spray bottle, I add three-quarters white vinegar and a quarter dish soap and scrub for the most shiny streak-free and crystal clear glass every time.”

White vinegar is hailed as a versatile wonder liquid with numerous applications. It’s a household staple, making it incredibly convenient for cleaning shower glass with vinegar.

After applying her mixture, Dani rinsed the glass screen with the shower head and allowed it to air dry.

The final reveal showed the shower screen immaculate, devoid of any soap scum or limescale marks.

For those struggling to remove limescale with this DIY spray, a combination of baking soda and vinegar could be the solution.

Baking soda serves as an abrasive, and when mixed with vinegar, it can effectively dissolve many hard water marks and soap scum.

Soak a sponge or cloth in vinegar, then cover it with baking soda. A bit of vigorous scrubbing should help get rid of the stains. Rinse with warm water to clear away any leftover residue.
