A week after the premiere of the fourth season of Hulu’s hit series “Only Murders in the Building,” star Selena Gomez has reached billionaire status, making her one of the youngest women in the country to hit that milestone.
While “Only Murders” reportedly earns the 32-year-old $6 million per season, the actress and singer’s makeup brand, Rare Beauty, is credited for much of her estimated $1.3 billion net worth, according to Bloomberg.
Profitable sponsorship deals with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Coach and Puma have also amassed roughly $50 million for the former child star.
Gomez, known for her mental health advocacy, also co-created the Wondermind platform with her mother in 2021. Described as a “mental fitness ecosystem,” Wondermind is worth approximately $100 million, Bloomberg cited.
“What she’s doing is pretty smart,” Carolyn Sloane, a University of Chicago professor, told the outlet. “There has been this big shift throughout her career towards what fits her more authentically, which turns out to be better investment decisions.”
Last year, Gomez was named TikTok’s most popular artist in the U.S., outranking other performers who made the top 10, including Ice Spice, Cardi B and Ariana Grande.
The former Disney Channel star, who came to fame on “The Wizards of Waverly Place,” is the executive producer of a spinoff called “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” which premieres in October.
