Secrets of Kate Middleton’s new blonde 20-inch hair transformation – and the golden rule she’ll never break

PRINCESS Kate looked sensational as she stepped out for the Commonwealth Day Service on Monday, after missing last year’s due to cancer.

The Princess of Wales, 43, stunned in a recycled, red coatdress by Catherine Walker – but it was her lighter “bronde” hair colour which caught some royal fans’ eyes.

Hair expert Adem Oygur of Adem London told Fabulous that the royal appears to have slightly tweaked the colour to an “old money” style.

He shared: “Princess Kate has always been known for her gorgeous, long dark hair and it’s become one of her trademarks for her style.

“This new lighter shade is different for her, but it still stays close to her classic and timeless style.

“She’s stayed true to her darker tones and kept it within the ‘bronde’ palette, and it still has that ‘old money’ and ‘rich luxe’ feel that Kate has become known for.”

Tina Farey, editorial director at RUSH, added: “This soft brunette shade exudes elegance, paired beautifully with glossy warm undertones blended throughout.

“This shade is the perfect transitional colour as we move into the warmer months, being completely customisable to the individual.”

Kate’s 20-inch hair trick

Recently, award winning hairstylist Micheal Gray estimated Kate’s hair spans 20 inches long – and it’s thanks to a key trick for banishing split ends.

He shared how the longer hair can get, the more likely it is to get split but Kate’s locks stay immaculate by frequently getting trims, which ensures that hair stays “lovely, long, and healthy.”

Adem claims that we are unlikely to see Princess Kate deviated from her signature style of long and luscious locks.

He continued: “Kate will likely be long for life, and she has always been that way – even before she met and married Prince William!

“It’s become the staple of her style, and like many royals she isn’t likely to deviate from what she’s known to look like and the style that suits her so well.

“It keeps her looking youthful and frames her face and features well.

“Whilst bobs and pixie cuts can go in and out of style, long layers and healthy hair is timeless so Kate isn’t likely to ever change.”

Meanwhile, Tina stated: “Kate has a squared face shape, which means that she suits her hair on the longer side – framing her striking natural beauty and that defining jawline!”

Princess products

Michael provided his top stimulating hair products, which he believes are part of Kate’s hair care routine.

Michael suggests using the Nioxin hair range to achieve healthy locks.

He highlights the Scalp and Hair Thickening System 1 Shampoo for Natural Hair with Light Thinning (300ml), which is currently priced at £18.80 on LookFantastic.

This shampoo lathers onto the scalp to remove impurities and excess oil, creating the optimal scalp environment to promote thicker, stronger, and more resilient-looking hair.

Additionally, he recommends the Living Proof Scalp Care Density Serum, available from Cult Beauty for £54.

Finally, Michael suggests incorporating hair growth and strengthening supplements into your routine, such as Perfectil.

Professional hairstylist Tom Pike has also noted that Kate has recently “upgraded” her hairstyle to the ‘Hollywood wave.’

Speaking to Hello! magazine, he explained: “To achieve this, you would use either a smoothing cream or a good blow-dry spray.

“Blow-dry your hair smooth, then, using a large barrel wand, twist the hair around the tool, taking slightly thicker sections as you work. Once this is done, gently brush it out.”

Kate, 43, smiled and giggled with husband Prince William as they were joined by other senior Royal Family members for the event at Westminster Abbey.

She looked especially delighted when confronted by Masai dancers performing during the event.

Kate sat in the front row of the Abbey with Charles, 76, William, 42, and Queen Camilla, 77, in a pink dress and coat, to celebrate the Commonwealth.

Kate Middleton’s ‘Youthful’ Eyebrow Trick

AMY Bates, make-up artist and founder of thebeautyrebellion.co.uk shares how Kate Middleton’s beauty tricks…

Many people experience eyebrow thinning as they get older – but Kate’s have done the opposite.

The Princess opts for a fuller look, which gives her a more youthful appearance.

Amy Bates, hair stylist, make-up artist and founder of thebeautyrebellion.co.uk, says: “If you have lines and wrinkles under the eye, the right brows can draw attention away from that area and make it less noticeable.

“In her younger years, Kate’s brows were thin and heavily plucked but now they are growing back thicker.

“I imagine a specialist has helped her using a technique such as HD Brows, where the natural brows are tinted and shaped.”

And she also appears to have ditched harsher eyeliner too.

Amy says: “Kate is still wearing eyeliner but it is much softer and not too dark. She now prefers smoky brown and bronze hues, which are more flattering.

“Thick lines can make people look older and Kate understands this.”

Wills and Camilla led the royals at the service last year.

The thrifty princess has worn the dress, which comes with a bow, several times including during her first Christmas Carol concert at the Abbey in 2021.

Kate also wore Collingwood pearl and diamond earrings, which once belonged to Princess Diana, and the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Japanese four-strand pearl choker.

Kate and the King’s health problems of last year looked like a distant memory as she joked with her family and smiled at other guests.

The Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester also joined a 2,000-strong congregation which included former Spice Girl Geri Horner, cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and PM Sir Keir Starmer.
