Search for missing Texas mom Suzanne Clark Simpson shifts to landfill

The search for Suzanne Clark Simpson, a luxury real estate agent who disappeared after attending a birthday party at a swanky dinner club, has shifted to a Texas landfill.

The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed officers were scouring the spot in Southeast Bexar County on Monday, one week exactly after Simpson was reported missing, my San Antonio reported. No additional details were provided, but a DPS spokesperson noted it is the fourth location authorities have homed in on in connection with the case.

Simpson was last seen on Oct. 6 outside of her home in Olmos Park — a municipality in San Antonio on the city’s Northside, DPS said in a Clear Alert for missing adults. An unidentified neighbor told police he saw Simpson locked in a physical altercation with her husband, Brad Simpson, between 10 and 11 p.m. that night.

He said it looked like Simpson “was attempting to get away from Mr. Simpson’s grasp” while he “was clearly attempting” to foil her efforts to flee, according to an affidavit in the case. The neighbor then recalled watching the couple head west and hearing two or three screams. He added that he tried to find the Simpsons shortly thereafter, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Earlier in the night, the couple had attended a party at The Argyle, an exclusive, members-only club in Alamo Heights, located about a mile from their home. Police have since released photos of Simpson standing outside the venue that night, wearing a black dress and nude heels.

On Wednesday, Brad Simpson was arrested on family violence and unlawful restrain charges. He was ordered held on $2 million bond and remained behind bars as of early Tuesday afternoon.

Police previously said he is not yet considered a suspect in his wife’s disappearance. They also noted that he was the one who reported her missing on Oct. 7.

The last known “ping” or location of Clark’s cell phone came from a business parking lot in Olmos Park at 7:15 a.m. the same morning.
