RONNIE O’SULLIVAN cut a frustrated figure on Wednesday morning – with the Crucible table bearing the brunt.

The Rocket, 49, is facing Si Jiahui for a place in the World Championship semi-finals.

O’Sullivan began Wednesday’s morning session with a 6-2 lead over the Chinese prodigy.

The seven-time world champion had extended that advantage to 10-6 by the interval.

But along the way, there was visible frustration from The Rocket despite breaks of 75, 67 and 70.

O’Sullivan led 28-0 in Frame 11 and potted a pink into the bottom right corner pocket.

His cueing was slightly off on the shot, causing him to be out of position on the red.

O’Sullivan sharply punched his hand on the table following the blunder.

TNT commentator David Hendon said: “You saw what he thought about that – not a lot.”

His co-commentator Dominic Dale added: “He punches the table in frustration.”

O’Sullivan missed a host of tournaments earlier this year on medical grounds.

The 49-year-old has openly admitted to struggling with his mental health and form.

O’Sullivan admitted after play on Monday that he felt “horrible” at the table.

He told the BBC: “I feel so unconfident. It’s like, horrible.

“It’s horrible even when you’re playing alright.

“I know I’m probably not normal and have accepted that as well.

“If either player I played had played well I would have got beat because I’ve played poorly. They’ve let me off the hook. It’s difficult.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is eyeing a record EIGHTH World Snooker Championship crown, while World No 1 Judd Trump remains the tournament favourite.

“I hit a safety shot there in that frame and caught it so thick.

“I can’t even see where I’m hitting it, it’s just guesswork.

“Then I try it again and a different shot comes off. On the balls I was alright but there are so many parts to the game.

“It’s hell to be honest. I just want to enjoy it. I don’t care about winning – that’s just a bonus.

“But I just want to be part of a good game.”
