Two of the biggest names in that race are Sam’s Club and Costco, with the latter often winning the food court war.
Costco‘s food court isn’t just loved in the warehouse world, but in the retail sector in general.
One of the stores primary bragging rights when it comes to food is its pizza prices, with a whole pie available for just $9.95.
But, while Sam’s Club has made moves to beat its rival on price, selling a hot dog at $1.38 instead of Costco‘s $1.50, a new addition might have given it the edge.
Two major changes have been announced at Sam’s Club that promise to change the game.
PIZZA TIME
Firstly, allrecipies reports that Sam’s Club is now offering whole pizzas to-go, with the price not yet confirmed.
Despite, the outlet suggests that the cost could land somewhere at the $9.94 mark, basically the same price as Costco.
But that isn’t all when it comes to pizza.
While Costco customers have to wait to collect their pizza from the food court, Sam’s Club shoppers will now be able to use curbside pickup.
While Costco forces you to wait for your pie, Sam’s Club will soon allow you to collect it right from your car.
JAM UNTIL THE AM AT SAM’S
The second change is one that customers have requested on social media.
For a while, the opening hours at Sam’s Club have been less than desirable for some.
One person said on X in March: “I Wish Sams Club Food Court stayed open all Day like the whole Store I’m tryna grab a pizza.”
Well, the hours at Sam’s Café are being improved so it will stay open for the duration of the main store’s hours.
This will see the area open for the extra hour, giving you more time to grab that soft pretzel you’ve been craving.

An employee on Reddit confirmed the change in a thread.
They said: “So I work Cafe. We usually close at 7pm through the week and 6pm on Sundays.
“Today we were informed that we will now be closing at 8, but still clocking out at 9.
“So the hr and a half sometimes almost 2 hrs of cleaning and closing has to be done in less than an hr now.. is this company wide or just my store?”
The comments in the thread seemed to confirm that the move was company wide at Sam’s Club.
Employees are not happy with the change.
One person said: “Cafe has a f**k ton of cleaning, dishes, and stocking to do.
“Ain’t no way they can do all that in an hour. Plus take breaks/lunches if they haven’t already.”
And a second added: “We get yelled at for going 1 minute over, how do they expect us to get all this done?”
