Ahead of the U.S. presidential election, two caustic characters most associated with Sacha Baron Cohen have been resurrected — and like clockwork, they made a mockery of Donald Trump.
After some prodding from Jimmy Fallon during a “Tonight Show” appearance on Thursday, the Golden Globe winner revived Borat and Ali G, who then weighed in on the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and the former “Apprentice” star.
Ali G, the fictional character that launched Baron Cohen’s career in the late 1990s, had a more admirable take on the polarizing MAGA leader, and cheekily referencing his recent scandals.
“Yo, Mr. Trump. You is being convicted of 32 crimes, you stole classified documents, you boned enough porn stars and you ain’t never paid no taxes. Respect! You my hero,” the British bad boy mused.
As Borat — the subject of two successful movies — Cohen took aim at Trump’s disproven claims that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio are eating residents’ cats and dogs.
“Mr. Trump. You say in Ohio that people eat the cats and the dogs. Which restaurant do they serve them at? Can you get me a reservation, please?” the mustached Kazakhstani journalist said. “In my country we have KFC: Kazakh Fried Cat. It’s pussy-licking good.”
But VP Harris wasn’t off the hook from Borat’s bumbling wrath.
“You are a woman, a person of color and married to a Jew. I advise you not to come to Kazakhstan. You have already made three out of four crimes punishable by death,” he joked of the Democratic presidential nominee.
“Please do not tell me that you have also made sexy time with an underage bear,” he quipped.
Going back to Trump, he added: “Mr. Trump, that remind me of your visit five years ago to the bear pageant. We paid the hush money to gather the grizzly. Problem solved,” Borat said, referencing Trump’s trial that found him guilty on dozens of counts related to a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. “Thank you for your nuclear secrets in return. You scratch my back, I scratch your crumb.”
