Russia-Ukraine war LIVE: Crimea ferry erupts in flames as Kyiv scores direct hit on vessel

Ukraine struck another huge blow against Russia’s navy on Thursday after destroying and sinking a train ferry used to transport military equipment to Crimea.

The Conro Trader ferry was hit by a Neptune missile while it was loading cargo at the Kavkaz port.

It was carrying 30 tank cars filled with fuel, which caused a raging inferno to break out on board the ship.

Fifteen crew members were on the ferry at the time of the attack.

Defence experts noted that the Conro was the only large ferry operating between Russia and Kerch, a gateway to the Crimean peninsula.
