Ukraine has launched another massive air attack on the Russian border city of Belgorod, as it steps up its aerial bombardment of the region.
In video footage posted to social media channels, air raid sirens can be heard, as well as the terrifying boom of explosions.
Images also show various fires with thick black smoke spiralling upwards into the darkness.
This is the second time today the city has come under attack from Ukrainian forces.
Four people are reported to have been injured as a result of the shelling, receiving shrapnel wounds.
The region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said several domestic properties were damaged during the attack.
“As a result of direct hits, four houses, a garage and an outbuilding caught fire,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
“23 private houses, 3 outbuildings and 5 cars were damaged,” he added.
Ukraine’s army has repeatedly targeted the border city with drone and missile attacks, as it seeks to provide greater protection for Kharkiv.
Putin’s army regularly fires S-300 rockets from Belgorod at Ukraine’s second-largest city just across the border.
An S-300 missile can reach Kharkiv from Belgorod in about 30 seconds, giving citizens there literally no time to get to a shelter.
It comes as Ukraine’s President prepares to give a speech at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
Volodymyr Zelensky travelled to the US at the start of the week to hold talks with President Joe Biden.
He is also scheduled to meet US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
In an interview with ABC, Zelensky said the war with Russia could end sooner than some people think.
“I think that we are closer to peace than we think,” he told US broadcaster ABC News.
He added that Ukraine could push Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the conflict, but only if Kyiv was coming from a “strong position” – once again calling on his Western allies to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
