Russia burning as massive warehouse fire ignites after fresh 'Ukraine drone attack'

A massive explosion has rocked the Russian city of Rostov-on-don, with witnesses reporting a sound similar to a drone, in what is likely to be a Ukraine strike on Russian.

Dramatic footage showed a warehouse in flames, with a Russian blogger posting on Telegram describing an “explosion and fire near Voroshilovsky Bridge and Levoberezhnaya.”

They added: “Eyewitnesses say they heard a sound similar to a drone before this.

“The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that a warehouse was burning.

“First, a fire started, then something exploded.”

One eyewitnesses posted: “Something flew by, I woke up because of this sound, then at 4:57 I heard a dull sound of an explosion.

“Judging by the sound of a lawn mower, a drone fell on the Left Bank in the area of the Megamaga and a fire started.”

It is not the first time Rostov, the scene of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s infamous rebellion against Vladimir Putin last year, has been targeted in recent days.

On Monday, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said nearly 100 firefighters tackled a fire at a building materials warehouse, which spread to nearby houses, in Aksaysky District.
